NEWS

Aviall Inc. to enter Indian market by December 2008

REACTIONS :

Karan Khara, Industry Solutions Lead Aviation and Aerospace, IBM India Private Ltd

Aviation Outlook India had some valuable sessions with the right content and speakers even though the summit witnessed minimal participation from the key stakeholders and leadership from the airlines.

Barry Rodrigues, Manager, Corporate Marketing, National Aviation Services

The sessions at the summit were content-driven focusing on the current issues faced by the industry. However, the participation of the right people from the airline fraternity was missing. Since we were exhibiting at the Summit, it would have been great to have met the airline officials and interact with them about the products offered by our company.

Donald De Souza, Business Development Manager, Sharjah International Airport

Aviation Outlook India had a good perspective from the speakers with supporting content. However, the negative part about the forum was the fact that there was a no show from the certain speakers, and the key stakeholders from companies were not present. There was nothing dramatically new that we learnt at the Summit.

Peter Harbison, Executive Chairman, Centre for Asia Pacific Aviation

The important thing about India is that it's always changing. Whenever you visit India you actually don't know what to expect. I believe the summit was very well organised and this is the right way to do it. I enjoyed the experience of listening to different views of speakers. It's a different country and every year speakers have different things to say. It is a very difficult time for the Indian aviation industry with the tremendous increase in the fuel prices across the globe. I think the sessions covered it very well. Also, all aviation issues were discussed at length.

Suresh Nair, Vice President - Commercial, Paramount Airways

The summit was interesting especially in the changed scenario to get various points of view of other players in the market. Through such events we get overall international views on how things are going to develop and be in India. It is a forum to interact and discuss issues which are not addressed very often. With the increasing ATF rates many of us will have to rethink our strategies and the routes we want to fly.

Yateesh P, Head - Human Resources, Go Airlines (India) Pvt. Ltd.

This summit gave us the right platform to interact with our counterparts. The conference has been very informative and useful for many people. The business sessions have been pretty good. It was a good networking channel for us. I personally feel that it helped me a lot in terms of how my colleagues in the industry manage to sustain their employees in this ongoing slump in the industry.

David Moden, Sales Manager – Europe, Middle East and Africa, Oxford Aviation Academy

This is the first time that I have participated in this summit. And I think it’s an excellent platform to interact with Indian aviation professionals. I am here to network with the industry players, further enhance my relations with my business partners in India and work closely with the market. Also the panel of speakers chosen for two days consists of big names from the industry. Hence the summit has acted as a platform for me to interact with the Indian side.

The Indian market is exciting and we are watching it closely. With the well planned and executed conference having fair number of industry leaders in attendance, it was worth participating here. The only suggestion I would want to make is that there was not any session on pilot training. A session focusing on pilot training would have helped people like me who belong to that segment of the industry.

Dennis Pilz, Managing Director, Cockpit4u

The summit has been very successful for us considering our main objective has been fulfilled. We exhibited at the Aviation Outlook India 2008 primarily to make a presence, establish contacts within the industry and have an exchange with key players to develop business relations. We were able to showcase our product, meet with potential clients and leading names in the industry. The advantage of exhibiting here is that the speakers, panelists and moderators are all names to reckon with and they have all interacted with us. The event being very well managed and organised was definitely a competent one.

Manish Kalghatgi, General Manager – Corporate Communication, MIAL

This is the second time that we have participated in this summit. It’s been a well attended event with presence from cross sections of the industry including airlines, aviation groups, aviation training institutes, Ministry and airports. The discussions have been wholesome, especially with the backdrop of hike in fuel price. The deliberations have given an insight of what is happening in the industry and given knowledge on a lot of issues in the form of detailed panel discussions. Our main objectives- networking and getting updated on industry issues were fulfilled. It has been a well organised and well structured event. However, compared to last year, the big names from the industry were missing.
