Passport Online launches cruise booking engine

Passport Online has launched a cruise-booking tool for travel agent websites that incorporates marketing as well as booking. According to a report in www.travelweekly.com by Jerry Limone, the product, called Tandem, has been in development for over a year. Passport online said the solution integrates email marketing, consumer website shopping and travel agent consulting.

"One example of this level of selling and booking synergy is that now agents can email cruise offers to their customer base, via our email marketing tools, and when the customer clicks on 'more details,' they have the option to contact the agent or to simply book the cruise at the agent’s website," said Greg Kott, CEO, Passport Online. Tandem users who already use one of Passport Online's core web products, VacationPort or NexCite, pay an annual USD 1,500 licensing fee, a one-time set-up fee of USD 750 and a USD 3 transaction fee per consumer booking. For new customers, Tandem is priced at USD 2,049 per year for the licensing fee, USD 900 for the one-time set-up fee and USD 3 for each consumer booking.
