Brand USA witnesses participation from Tier I and II cities

Brand USA, with the mission of increasing international visitation, spend, market share and to enhance the image of the USA worldwide, recently conducted a webinar for the travel agents. Sheema Vohra, Managing Director, Brand USA-India in an email attraction with TravelBiz Monitor talks about new route plans and itineraries for the USA.
QHow many travel agents have registered for the webinar? What was the expectation? Has it met your expectation?
We received a positive response from the travel trade for the webinar. It witnessed participation from across Tier I and II cities of India.

QWhat are the new segments added for this year’s webinar?
The focus of the webinar was to disseminate information about the destinations beyond the Gateways, Music trails and the Great outdoors. Our focus was mainly on: North East: Massachusetts and the New England region, South East: Musical trail (New Orleans, Memphis and Nashville), Midwest: Detroit and Northern Lights in Michigan, South Dakota, West: Utah and Wyoming National Parks and Pacific: Washington state, Alaska (beyond cruise).

QHow has the webinar helped the travel agents to overcome the current challenges?
Through the webinar our aim was to provide an online interactive platform for our tour operator partners. This should help them to come up with new route plans and itineraries to the USA.

QWhat kind of audience is Brand USA targeting?
India has a large and fast growing middle class whose affluence is increasing rapidly. We will work with this group and focus on the family segment and young millennials who are looking to holiday in the USA and at the same time are new experience seekers. Our primary focus will remain on the key metro cities generating maximum outbound traffic from India, followed by a few promising secondary cities that generate feeder leisure business (via the major metros) or through direct air connectivity.
