Haryana Govt to develop international airport at Hisar

Realising the potential of good connectivity to growth, Haryana government plans to so design its rail, road and air connectivity as to turn the strategic advantage of geographical location into a catalytic agent for propelling growth of the state economy. It has announced plans to upgrade the Hisar Civil Aerodrome into an international airport by spending INR 50 crores. The state government is planning to sign a MoU with the Ministry of Railways for formation of a joint venture company to undertake development, financing and implementation of identified railway projects.

The Finance Minister of Haryana, Capt Abhimanyu said that the government has made a tourism outlay of INR 66.81 crore in 2016-17, making an increase of 109.4% over INR 31.90 crore in the year 2015-16.

The Union Ministry of Tourism has identified Kurukshetra under the Krishna Circuit to develop tourism infrastructure in the holy city. The Haryana Government has identified and shortlisted 5 prominent sites – Sannihit Sarovar, Amin Kund, Narkatari, Brahma Sarovar, Jyotisar as well as Kurukshetra city for development.

Wildlife tourism would also be promoted with INR 2 crore spending. INR 20 crores would be spent on the Swades Darshan scheme. Under the pilgrimage segment, INR 30 lakhs will be spent on Sindhu Darshan and Kailash Mansarovar circuit while INR 1.5 crore on establishing State Institute of Hotel Management.
