Skal International Mumbai South -732 organises Pre-Diwali Bash

In keeping with spirit of the festive season & the festival of lights - Diwali, the SIMS Board organises an unforgettable event for its members, as well as highlights it's achievements for the 2020.

In the midst of this, the youngest club in the world, SIMS-732 showed remarkable resilience during both phases - pre lockdown & during lockdown.

SIMS was present at OTM Mumbai in the month of February, where it had a small pavillion in which members of the club exhibited their services & offerings for the hospitality & tourism sector. This was met with a fabulous response from pavillion attendees.

The Tourism Minister of Greece was present at the event, organised on February 7, at JW Marriott Sahar. The event saw leading luminaries from the trade participate as well as officials from Rwanda Tourism.

During the lockdown, SIMS organised a virtual travel presentation on MahaRashtra - the tourism & financial capital of India.

SIMS took the initiative by organising more virtual travel shows that specifically dealt with ' travel in post-Covid period.

This included webinars with leaders from UNWTO with speakers from Jordan, United States of America, Seychelles taking part in the event. Aptly titled  'Rebuilding Travel' viewers listened in rapt attention to distinguished speakers who suggested measures from rapid testing to professional handling of tourism.

International travel speakers from Germany Greece & Africa took part in yet another travel webinar in the month of May. Here again, speakers offered their perspectives of how travel would pan out once lockdown was partially lifted in their countries & continents, thereby providing viewers with valuable information & guidance.

SIMS organised destination & knowledge based webinars for its members & registered viewers on many exotic countries, namely Israel, Morocco, Rwanda & SouthWest Germany in cooperation with local tourism boards, consulates & high commission. This was met with resounding success considering there was a full house of attendees at all these live events. These were later hosted on FB Live.

New Industry Norms featuring Indian  tourism & hospitality experts was held in early June, speakers offered opinions & suggestions & were optimistic travel would return to normal levels by the beginning of January 21, especially on the domestic front.

SIMS also organised a virtual live event with Paa Shri award winner Dr Mukesh Batra, a leading homeopath specialist in India. The focus was on health & well-being of the travel trade during Covid times.

With a plethora of events held, during both phases, Skal International Mumbai South-732 achieves distinction as well as recognition among other international Skal Clubs, across the world.
