Musafir.com opens head office in Mumbai

Musafir.com has opened its head office in Mumbai in Andheri (East). The formal ribbon-cutting ceremony was done by Sheikh Mohammed Al Thani, Chairman & Co-founder, Musafir.com; Sachin Gadoya, Managing Director and Co-founder, Musafir.com; and Vijay Kesavan, CEO, Musafir.com India. This was followed by a lamp-lighting ceremony.
 
 

India Tourism, Mumbai participates in Pravasi Bharatiya Divas

India Tourism, Mumbai had a booth at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas held in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. The booth was themed, ‘Bharat Ko Dekho’, with special emphasis on the North East region and Buddhist pilgrimage sites. Dr Mahesh Sharma, Minister of State with Independent Charge for Culture and Tourism and Minister of State for Civil Aviation, Govt. of India, along with other dignitaries visited the booth.
 
 

Bordeaux named European Best Destination 2015

Bordeaux in France has won the title of ‘European Best Destination 2015’, beating major cities in the continent with 42,396 online votes out of 244,696 (17 per cent). In the order of ranking, Bordeaux is followed by Lisbon (Portugal) and Athens (Greece). European Best Destination (EBD) is an organisation based in Brussels and aims to promote and develop tourism in Europe.
 
 

MTPA hosts gala dinner for travel trade

Mauritius Tourism Promotion Authority (MTPA) hosted a networking dinner for visiting Mauritian companies and select members of the Indian travel trade who were in Delhi to attend SATTE. Vijaye Haulder, Deputy Director – MTPA; Vivek Anand, Country Manager – MTPA India; and Sanjay Sondhi, CEO, OM Tourism, were present at the event.

Etihad Airways debuts in East India with daily Kolkata flights

Etihad Airways has introduced a service to East India, with daily flights between Abu Dhabi and Kolkata. This is the airline’s 11th destination in India on its own, and its 15th in combination with network partner Jet Airways (India) Ltd.
 
 

Airbus expands footprint with new single source supplier in India

Airbus has signed an agreement with Bengaluru-based Dynamatic Technologies Ltd. to be the single source supplier of flap-track beams for the wide-body A330 family aircraft. The agreement is the largest manufacturing contract between Airbus and a private sector company in India and elevates Dynamatic to a global Tier-1 supplier.

Thomas Cook India’s Centre of Learning among Top 10 Performing South Asia IATA Authorized Training Centers

Centre of Learning, the education arm of Thomas Cook (India) Ltd. has been named among the 10 Top Performing South Asia IATA Authorized Training Centers in 2015 for the third time. Victor de Barrena, Director, IATA Training and Development Institute, presented the award to Smeeta Gulvady, Head - Centre of Learning.
