The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences to open at Palm Islands by end of 2017

Atlantis, The Palm conducts 3-city workshop in western region of India
Kerzner International—which owns and manages Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai—and Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) plan to launch the 46-storey The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences by the end of 2017, with an investment of USD 1.4 billion. This was announced by Neil Shah, Manager – Sales, Atlantis, The Palm, Dubai, on the sidelines of a three-city (Pune, Ahmedabad, and Nagpur) workshop held recently. To be located on the crescent of the Palm Islands, next to Atlantis, The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences will feature 800 guest rooms and suites (approx.) and 250 luxury residences, Shah added. “Ushering the next phase of an iconic development, Kerzner International will continue to focus on its global growth strategy with the launch of The Royal Atlantis Resort and Residences,” he stated.

The workshops, organised by Atlantis, The Palm, focused on the growing business coming from the three aforementioned cities. The event witnessed participation of about 500 tour operators and travel agents from the three cities. The workshops promoted leisure travel, social events, and MICE business from India.

“India always remains among the top three source markets for Atlantis, The Palm. We have been coming back to the key metro cities of India for making sales calls and boosting associations with premier brands. Besides, considering the appreciation in business of both first-time and repeat travellers from Tier-II and III cities of India such as Amritsar, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Nashik, Kolhapur, Surat, Vadodara, and Rajkot, we asserted on building more awareness in these prominent emerging markets. We would also be reaching out to other newer markets soon,” Shah elaborated.

With regard to trends among Indian guests, Shah said that the number of repeat travellers from India is on the rise. Indians look forward to activity-based holidaying at Atlantis, The Palm, since it is a fully integrated entertainment destination resort, he stated. “The length of stay of Indian guests has now crossed two nights. Moreover, apart from base room category, they are opting for Imperial Club rooms and suites and more,” he informed.

Moreover, early next month, Atlantis, The Palm will start the Atlantis Dive Explorer Program, which is a single, 30-minute dive that allows certified divers to “enjoy the tranquility of the beautiful lagoon” informed Shah. Atlantis, The Palm has also partnered with internationally-acclaimed celebrity chef, Gordon Ramsay to bring his Bread Street Kitchen restaurant to the resort. “Set to open in fall 2015, the restaurant will offer high-quality dining experience serving a British European menu,” he added.
