Pandaw River Expeditions to start Laos cruise in November 2015

Luxury river expedition company Pandaw River Expeditions has announced a ten-night Laos Mekong sailing on its newest ship the RV Laos Pandaw. The journey will commence on November 1, 2015, and offer guests the chance to travel deep into the Laos mountain, traverse rapids and gorges and visit local tribal villages and Buddhist temples along the River Mekong. Pandaw is the first river expedition operator to cross all of Laos, stated a release. The cost per person on twin sharing basis is USD 3,250, which includes fully-inclusive excursions, crew gratuities, meals and non-premium drinks, transfers between ports of embarkation and the international airport at the beginning and end of the voyage.

The Laos Pandaw will be the 14th ship to join Pandaw’s fleet, providing ten staterooms, including one Owner’s Suite. Guests will spend two nights at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Luang Prabang and explore its Buddhist temples, Royal Palace and night market. They will get a chance to observe the morning alms attended by a thousand monks before travelling inland to discover tribal villages, swim in jungle pools and traverse rapids and gorges.

The crew to passenger ratio on the ship will be 2:1. The Laos Pandaw, sister ship to the Kha Byoo built in 2014, benefits from a low draught and a powerful engine, ideal for sailing in the remote Upper Mekong, add the release. Guests booking before January 5, 2015 can benefit from a 10 per cent early booking saving.
