Star Cruises launches information portal for travel agents and PSAs

Star Cruises recently launched its website, www.starcruisescountry.com, for travel agents and its Preferred Sales Agents (PSAs). The website provides information on itineraries of all of Star Cruises' fleets, fares, promotions, PSA lists, shore excursions, cuisines, onboard entertainment, MICE details for corporate houses, samples of star navigators, information on pre-cruises, pictures, videos, latest news, policies, Star Cruises Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, Blogspot pages, and agents' training materials.

Throwing light on the benefits of the website, Naresh Rawal, Vice President - Sales, Star Cruises, said, “The registered agents will get exclusive access to the latest information provided by Star Cruises. They will also be able to download videos and pictures to use for promotional purposes. Through the training and conferencing tool on the website, travel agents can learn and share information with their global counterparts."

He went on to say, "The digital platform is growing, making our travel agents more tech-savvy. Hence, the initiative was taken to launch this website. It will update travel agents on the latest news, get access to every information on Star Cruises and get their queries addressed on the click of a button, instead of the time-consuming process of calling and mailing for the enquiries.”

Speaking about how this initiative benefits Star Cruises, Rawal said that by making all the important and relevant information available on the website, Star Cruises can avoid bulk mail requests from travel agents, and can instead send mass mails only on important information, videos, pictures and large-size files, thus reducing administrative burden. “Online training can be provided to agents, which will save us both time and money. The website will help us understand the number of visits by agents on an hourly basis, their choice of information and their topics of interest,” he added.

Further, Star Cruises plans to enable cruise bookings through the website for its registered travel agents. It has received good response and a considerable number of registrations on the website since the time of launch. It now plans to promote the website through print and social media advertising, and mass circulation to the travel agents registered in their database.
