We haven’t even scratched the surface in India: Trafalgar CEO

With Trafalgar having recorded its highest growth percentage from the Indian market compared to the other regions across the world, its CEO Gavin Tollman says that despite this, they haven’t even scratched the surface in this market. “I see India as a market with enormous potential for huge growth, and as that growth happens, we will be adding additional infrastructure as we see the opportunities. We haven’t even scratched the surface as far as India is concerned,” Tollman said when asked about appointing new PSAs (Preferred Sales Agents) to tap new cities and customers.

According to Tollman, Trafalgar enjoys repeat client rates of 58.3%. “We have launched new itineraries for Antarctica, Africa, Poland, Spain and Portugal for 2019. We always challenge ourselves to develop new itineraries depending on what our guests’ desire.”

Separately, talking about sustainable tourism, he said that as part of their Treadright programme, Trafalgar partnered with ‘We’, a Canadian entity. “Under this partnership, we have a project in Rajasthan to help in community building, and are also working on rehabilitation of the Elephant.”

Tollman feels that mass tourism has become a growing concern, and therefore their focus is to ensure year around travel across destinations in order to ensure travel is a force for good. “Travel can help sustain communities, and therefore our focus is on Break Bread with Locals which ensures we generate employment for the local population as well as contribute to the sustainable goals.”
