Abolition of multiple taxes to be main agenda for discussion at ITTA’s annual convention 2010

Kumari Selja, Union Minister for Tourism to inaugurate the convention on August 5, 2010

The Indian Tourist Transporters Association (ITTA), one of the largest body representing tourist transport service providers dedicated to promote tourism in India, has decided to hold its annual ITTA convention on August 5, 2010 at Hotel Ashok, Chanakyapuri, New Delhi. India without Barriers: A New Beginning has been selected as the theme for the convention, wherein abolition of multiple taxes such as road, toll and passenger tax on tourist vehicles will be one of the major discussion agenda during the convention. Besides, the convention will also have discussions on issues pertaining to traffic police and need of fitness certificate for brand new commercial cars and MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) parking tax on tourist vehicles.

The association is expecting Rahul Gandhi, an eminent personality in Indian politics, to attend the convention as a keynote speaker. Kumari Selja, Union Minister for Tourism will be inaugurating the convention. Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister, Delhi along with distinguished ministers, officials from tourism and transport department, tourist transport service providers will also be present for the occasion.
