In a bid to augment domestic tourism in the country, the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) will soon organise study tours which also include familiarisation trips to various states across India starting with Kerala followed by Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and the North East. Commenting on the initiative, Subhash Verma, Vice President, ADTOI, mentioned, “These study tours will be conducted from August 24-29, 2009. We have selected Kerala as the first state for the series due to the huge popularity of the destination as a tourism product. The main idea behind the tour is to familiarise trade with the destination, its tourism products and understand the varied facets that can be promoted. Subsequently, we also want to increase domestic tourist traffic from North India to Kerala.”
The Association has selected 30 tour operators who will participate from North India and this trip will be co-ordinated by Rajat Sawhney, General Secretary, ADTOI. The Group will visit several places in Kerala which include Munnar, Alleppey, Thekkady and Kochi. |
