According to a PTI report, Air India (AI) pilots are likely to head towards another strike after a meeting held yesterday in the capital between airline pilots and management remained ‘inconclusive’. Capt Ravindra Kumar, Regional Secretary, Indian Commercial Pilots' Association (ICPA) said, “The talks remained 'inconclusive' as the management was adamant over our demands, they have even refused to pay our due salaries and allowances and said that we will have to accept the cut. With such an attitude of the airline management, strike seems imminent.” Kumar added that, Arvind Jadhav, CMD, Air India himself had called us for the talks but was not present in the meeting.
The airline pilots have been demanding an inquiry into the alleged mismanagement of the airline, implementation of uniform rules for all the employees of erstwhile Indian Airlines and Air India, as well as turnaround plan from the management without any cut in the salaries of any employees. |
