Air India invites bids for leasing out three Boeing 777 on sub-lease

According to a PTI report, Air India has invited bids from global players to put three of its Boeing 777 aircraft on sub-lease. Certain sources in the National Aviation Company of India Limited (NACIL) said that the bids will be accepted till November 17, 2009. Sources added that the Boeings, manufactured in 2007, will be sub-leased for either short or long durations.

Under dry lease, an aircraft is leased by a company without the crew, while a wet-leased plane will have the crew, engineering facilities as well as insurance cover borne by the lessor.
