Air India has restructured its summer schedule by introducing flight AI 691, leaving Kochi at 9.55 pm daily to Mumbai, with improved facilities to Europe and US-bound passengers from Kochi via Mumbai. The immigration and customs clearance of passengers and their luggage would be held at Kochi Airport, instead of the transit point at Mumbai Airport. According to a UNI report, this information was divulged by Michael Joseph, Station Manager, Air India, Kochi Airport. He also added that all the new arrangements will be made effective March 29, 2009.
In its return leg from Mumbai, the flight scheduled to leave Mumbai at 01.00 pm, will ensure connectivity for the passengers from US, UK destinations. Joseph also said by completing the customs and immigration clearances at Kochi Airport, US-bound passengers will save their transit-time and get connected to the West-bound flights from Mumbai Airport in an hour. Air India, will keep Frankfurt as its operational hub for West-bound flights.
The airline also plans to enhance its services to Saudi Arabia from Kochi on a daily-basis with four flights to Damam on Monday, |
