According to a report in etravelblackboardasia.com, AirAsia has launched two new routes from Jakarta and Medan in Indonesia to Phuket in Thailand. The airline is offering special promotional online fares to celebrate the launch of the new routes. The new routes will be in an addition to AirAsia’s existing Jakarta-Bangkok and Bali-Bangkok routes and will operate from its new hub at Phuket International Airport in Thailand. AirAsia said that the routes will further strengthen its aggressive expansion plans in being an ASEAN airline.
The special fares start from THB 1,499 one-way for Jakarta-Phuket and THB 999 one-way for Medan-Phuket, available for booking until November 9, 2009 for travel from December 3, 2009- April 30, 2010.
