Anand Kumar (IAS) has taken charge as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India. This post has been vacant since Leena Nandan, former Joint Secretary, MoT stepped down from the position mid- last year.
A 1984-batch Kerala cadre IAS, Kumar was Resident Commissioner in Kerala House, New Delhi prior to joining Central Ministry. After commencing his career as Assistant Collector in home cadre, he held numerous positions both in home cadre, Kerala and Central ministries, including Special officer and Additional Director –Tourism, Secretary Finance, Government of Kerala; and Under Secretary in Ministry of Surface Transport, and Commerce and Industries, as well as Director, and Deputy Election Commissioner in Election Commission of India in Central government. |
