Asian Development Bank agrees to invest Rs 250 crore for developing tourism projects in Uttarakhand

In a meeting held recently with Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board (UTDB), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has agreed to invest Rs 250 crore for developing various tourism projects in Uttarakhand. According to official spokesperson, ADB in association with UTDB will develop tourism projects in Dehradun, Pithoragarh and Tons River area in the state. ADB and UTDB will also develop various Adventure Tourism activities such as skiing, water sports, rafting, wildlife and other tourism infrastructure facilities in these places.

UTDB is currently seeking proposals from private parties to develop tourism infrastructures such as resorts, five-star hotels, convention centres, ropeways at different places in the state under Public Private Partnership (PPP) model initiative, in order to promote tourism in the state. UTDB is also looking at developing places such as Tehri Lake and Terai Belt.
