At the Executive Committee meeting held recently in the capital, Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) has decided to organise a B2B adventure expo in India. Currently, plans for the same are at the preliminary stage, as ATOAI also has plans to discuss the organistaion of the adventure expo with Tourism Secretary, S Banerjee and seek help of the Ministry of Tourism (MoT). Providing further details about the adventure expo, Tejbir Singh Anand, President, ATOAI said that the Association will take the expo to an international level with widespread marketing activities and focus on targeting adventure and Ecotourism stakeholders worldwide. ATOAI expects about 100 overseas buyers for the expo. However, the venue and dates of the expo have not yet been decided.
Further, Anand said that Adventure Tourism in the country needed encouragement from Government of India (GoI) in order to take it to the next level. “Currently, a lot of internal issues exist within the adventure sector,” he said. |
