ATOAI to organise study tour in Jammu & Kashmir for foreign adventure tour operators

In order to promote adventure tourism destinations in India, Adventure Tour Operators Association of India (ATOAI) is planning to organise a study tour in Jammu & Kashmir for foreign adventure tour operators. This trip will be conducted in association with the Department of Tourism, Government of Jammu & Kashmir. This information was divulged by Tejbir Singh Anand, President, ATOAI. The date and the duration of the trip have not been finalised but is most likely to be held in March 2010.

The Association will select fifty foreign adventure tour operators from various countries for the trip. The main objective of organising the study tour is to educate the participating foreign adventure tour operators about the potential and opportunities in the state (Jammu & Kashmir) and project it as an adventure tourism destination. ATOAI is also in the process of organising road shows in USA, Scandinavian Countries, Singapore, Malaysia, Latin American countries and Hong Kong to promote adventure tourism in India. The road shows will be organised in association with the Ministry of Tourism (MoT), Government of India.
