In its first attempt with an Indian carrier, British Airways (BA) will enter into a codeshare agreement with Kingfisher Airlines with effect from September 15, 2010. The ‘BA’ code will be placed on 11 domestic Indian routes and one international route to SriLanka operated by Kingfisher Airlines, while Kingfisher Airlines code ‘IT’ will be placed on nine BA routes from Heathrow to other operating stations in the UK and continental Europe.
The 11 domestic Indian routes include: Bengaluru to Chennai; Coimbatore to Kochi; Chennai to Coimbatore; Delhi to Bengaluru and Kolkata; Mumbai to Bengaluru; Chennai to Goa, Hyderabad and Kolkata and one international route from Coimbatore to Colombo, while routes for Kingfisher Airlines that will be code shared with BA include: Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Manchester, Amsterdam, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Lisbon and Paris.
The codeshare flights will be available for sale from tomorrow. The airlines customers will be able to book their journey on each of the airline’s website, earn frequent flyer points |
