The first Dusit Hotel in India, Dusit Devrana New Delhi, will become operational by April 2011. The hotel will be a LEED certified hotel building. This information was given by Ankur Bhatia, Executive Director, Bird Group. Bhatia said, “Initially, we will be opening it with ‘Gold’ rating and will further upgrade it to ‘Platinum.’”
Bhatia said that the hotel is being designed as a ‘high-end boutique hotel’ with 50-room inventory. When asked about the progress in other hotel projects by Dusit-Bird Hotels, the Joint Venture company between Bird Group of India and Thailand-based Dusit Hotels, Bhatia said that all the remaining projects are ‘well on their way’ and all the proposed hotels will be opened over the next three years.
Dusit Bird Hotels is in the process of setting up four hotels in locations like Jaipur, Goa, Rishikesh and New Delhi. Out of these hotels, two are Dusit Devrana (Jaipur and Rishikesh), one Dusit D2 (New Delhi) and Dusit Thani (Goa). |
