Britain raises issue of new Tourist Visa rules put in place by India

According to a PTI report, Britain yesterday raised the issue of new Tourist Visa rules put in place by India, under which tourists mainly from the US and UK with long-term Visas will have to take a two-month break between their long stay in the country.

As per the new Visa rules, American and British nationals, with five or ten year Tourist Visas, will no longer be allowed to enter India within two months of their last departure from India, if their last visit was longer than 90 days or if they have stayed longer than 180 days during the past year.


When asked about the new Visa rules put in place by India on the sidelines of the Conference of Indian Industry (CII) function, Peter Mandelson, Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills, UK government said that he has spoken to the Home Minister P Chidambaram on the same.
