BSTDC to promote tourism project in Sabbalpur Diara near Patna

Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation (BSTDC) has decided to project Sabbalpur Diara (riverine) tourism project in a big way. The riverine has the Ganga and Gandak rivers on its either side. Tourists from November 15, 2011 onwards will be able to enjoy camel rides, water sports activities and mouth-watering dishes at Sabbalpur Diara. The sandbar, situated a few kilometres from the banks of Ganga in Patna City, would be developed as a tourism hub under the aegis of Sabbalpur Diara Island River Project of BSTDC.

A senior official from BSTDC said that two temporary food courts at Sabbalpur Diara will be set up, which would be covered on three sides with a canopy on top. There will be two big and two small sitting lounges with capacities of 18 and eight people, respectively. These lounges would also be open canopy tents. Moreover, 12 eco-friendly river view benches would be provided to the visitors to enjoy the leisurely hangout at the riverine.

The BSTDC official said arrangements were being made to bring two to three camels at the diara.
