Capt C P Krishnan Nair, Chairman The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts conferred golden ITB Pin

Captain C P Krishnan Nair, Chairman, The Leela Palaces, Hotels and Resorts was conferred the golden ITB Pin (a little golden globe) by ITB at the PATA lunch during the exhibition, which concluded recently, for attending ITB Berlin for nearly 25 years. Capt. Nair on receiving the honour commented that ITB Berlin is the greatest travel trade fair and that he has enjoyed every visit to the same.  

Recognised globally as an eminent hotelier, environmentalist and a visionary Capt Nair has been the recipient of many prestigious awards. In January this year the International Hotel and Restaurant Association (IH&RA) conferred him with ‘Hotelier of the Century’ award while the Government of India has announced that he will receive ‘Padma Bhushan’ in March – April 2010.

Capt has also received the Global 500 Laureate Roll of Honour by the United Nations Environment Program in 1999 from Emperor Akihito of Japan. The American Academy of Hospitality Sciences honoured him with the Lifetime Achievement Five Star Diamond Award in 2009. He is also the recipient of the ‘Green Hotelier Award’ from IH&RA.
