| | According to a PTI report, the Centre has sanctioned a luxury train- ‘Incredible India - Punjab Luxury Train’ to promote tourism in Punjab. Hira Singh Gabria, Tourism and Culture Minister, Punjab said that the total estimated cost of this project will be Rs 29 crore, out of which the Ministry of Tourism (MoT) will contribute Rs 7.25 crore, while Indian Railways Catering Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) and Government of Punjab will equally contribute the remaining amount. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) of the project had been signed on October 1, 2008 between the Indian Railways and Punjab government.
Gabria informed that the tentative route of the ‘Incredible India - Punjab Luxury Train’ will be Delhi-Amritsar-Anandpur Sahib-Patiala-Kurukshetra- Jaipur-Agra and Delhi.
