Public transport buses in Chandigarh will have pictures of popular destinations like Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden etc. in order to promote tourism. According to an IANS report, “Chandigarh is famous all across the country for its tourist’s spots. There are many places to visit like Sukhna Lake, Rock Garden, Rose Garden and Government Museum and Art Gallery. The administration has decided to paint these locations and scenic beauty of Chandigarh on CTU (Chandigarh Transport Undertaking) buses,” stated Ram Niwas, Home Secretary, Chandigarh.
He further informed that CTU buses are the main public transport in the city. “Wherever the buses will travel it will automatically educate the people about Chandigarh and promote tourism. This move will enhance the flow of tourists here,” opined Niwas. According to the state’s tourism department, 960,912 tourists visited the city last year and it aims to touch the one million mark this year. |
