With strong presence of national and regional tourism boards, Australia has successfully established itself in the Indian market. The national and regional tourism boards have undertaken every possible marketing initiative to be on top of the traveller’s mind for leisure or business trips. Setting up a representation company in India a decade ago, currently Tourism Australia is one of the most active National Tourist Office (NTO) in India. Known as a long-haul destination, today Indians love visiting the Aussie land for leisure, visiting friends and relatives, education and often for business. The tourism board with its portal (www.tourism.australia.com) keeps the global travel trade updated on the latest trends, news, happenings, states and events. To further enhance the destination knowledge among the travel trade, it also offers destination specialist programmes. Apart from providing up-to-date information on B2B and B2C level, the tourism board also organises workshops, seminars, road shows and campaigns to keep the brand 'Australia' on top-of-the-mind of travellers.

Highlighting the growing potential of the Indian market for Australia, Abhilasha Jain, Country Manager – India, Tourism Australia said, “India is one of our fastest growing markets and the number of Indian travellers to Australia has been consistently increasing over the past few years.
