A delegation of Delhi Hotel & Restaurant Owners’ Association recently met Sheila Dikshit, Chief Minister, Delhi to seek her intervention against poor civil work being carried out in guest house areas in Delhi, especially in Karol Bagh and Paharganj. According to sources, Dikshit has assured the delegation that she would visit the areas this week to inspect infrastructure development work being undertaken by the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) in the two areas.
The delegation also took up other issues including Luxury Tax and permission for dining hall. The delegation mentioned to Dikshit that despite the assurance given to them in October 2009, as well as the directive issue to MCD to permit dining hall to cater to in-house guests, nothing has been done so far by the civic body.
Sandeep Khandelwal, President, Delhi Hotel & Restaurant Owners’ Association said, “The work being undertaken by the civic body is substandard and we fear that with the onset of monsoon, civil work would become difficult in these areas. We also asked Dikshit that a committee should be constituted with local representatives of our association for proper work surveillance.” |
