DoT, Government of Jammu and Kashmir plans to organise road shows in six Indian cities from this month end

With an aim to increase the domestic tourist arrivals to the state, the Department of Tourism (DoT), Government of Jammu and Kashmir is planning to organise road shows in six cities in India. The road shows will be held in Bhopal, Nagpur, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Mumbai etc. starting from this month end till February 2010. This information was divulged by Farooq Shah, Director (Tourism), Kashmir.

Besides this, the state tourism department is also in the process of organising a series of winter sports activities such as ice skating, skiing etc. in Gulmarg by this month end. About 24 foreign tourists are expected to attend the event. An official from the state tourism department informed that they will be organising a National Skiing Championship at the same venue. The aim behind organising the Championship is to highlight Gulmarg as an international skiing destination.
