The Department of Tourism (DoT), Government of Haryana has offered to host the next convention of the Indian Convention Promotion Bureau (ICPB) in the state. This offer was made at the ongoing two day `Conventions India-The MICE Conclave’ organised by ICPB in Hyderabad. The Conclave concludes today. According to Kesani Anand Arora, Principal Secretary Tourism, Government of Haryana, DoT, Govt. of Haryana has pitched for the ICPB convention as the state has witnessed significant development with regards to convention centres and other MICE related infrastructure in recent years. She further said that they have offered to host the next ICPB convention in Haryana but the final decision will be taken by ICPB.
Arora also stated that the DoT, Govt. of Haryana is very keen to promote Haryana as a MICE destination. Currently, the state has several world class convention centers such as Surajkund Convention Centre, which has capacity to host 800 people and convention centre at Tilyar Tourist Complex in Rohtak, which has the capacity to host 1,000 people. “Both convention centres have accommodation facilities,” added Arora. |
