At a press conference hosted by Travel Agents Association of India (TAAI) recently in New Delhi, Carl Vaz, Director – India, Dubai Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (DTCM) announced that delegates travelling to Dubai for TAAI’s 58th annual convention, which will be held from September 29- October 1, 2009 at Festival City Convention Centre, Dubai have been exempted from Visa Fee by the Dubai Emigration Department. About 1,800 delegates are expected to benefit from this initiative. While the theme for the Convention is ‘Fittest will Forge Ahead,’ TAAI’s Convention Committee is still working on the business sessions and speakers. Iqbal Mulla, Co-Chairman, TAAI Convention and Kulwant Singh, Managing Director, Lama Group of Companies were present at the press conference.
Addressing the media, Vaz said that DTCM will take all measures to make TAAI Convention memorable. “We are hopeful, the TAAI Convention combined with our enhanced marketing initiatives, will help us to cross the six lakh mark in inbound from India by the end of 2010,” stated Vaz.
