Dubai-based Lama Group enters India by setting up country head office in New Delhi

Dubai based Lama Desert Tours & Cruises (L.L.C), an inbound tour operator has entered India by setting up its country head office in New Delhi and operations office in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan. It has already assigned sales representatives across the country to generate domestic and inbound sales. The Group has launched an adventure sport activity called ‘Dune Safari’ in Jaisalmer. Power machines like 4x4 trucks and All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) will be used for the adventure sport.

The Group will also open a resort on 52 acres of land allotted by Rajasthan government in Jaisalmer. The resort will initially have 40 rooms and four conference halls which will operational by September this year, while remaining 20 rooms will be opened by March 2011. The Group has already invested Rs ten crore in the project and is going to invest additional Rs 30 crore till the final stage of the project. The Group is currently in talks with Rajasthan government and Rajasthan Tourism Authority (RTA) to launch similar projects in Barmer, Bikaner and other tourist hubs of the state.
