| | According to a PTI report, Rajasthan is all set to introduce ‘Xtreme Desert Safari’ for the upcoming tourist season (September to April) after hot air ballooning and parasailing. Dubai-based Lama Group with the support of Rajasthan Tourism Department is planning to start the ‘Xtreme Desert Safari’ commercially for tourists in the sand dunes of the Thar Desert. This is the first time a desert safari of this kind will be introduced in India, which is a popular adventure activity in North Africa and Dubai. Power machines like 4x4 trucks and All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) will be used for the adventure sport. Land near Kuldhara village in the desert district has been allotted to the firm on which construction of a resort for base camp is underway. At present, only the facility of camel safari is available for tourists in the state. “We are planning to start the Xtreme Safari from September this year, initially with ten 4x4 vehicles and as many ATVs in sand dunes,” said Kulwant Singh, Managing Partner, Lama Group. | | Read complete story >> (You need to login first to read complete story).
