| | The Forest Department is taking steps to promote eco-tourism in the Vallanadu Black Buck Sanctuary in Tuticorin district, the southernmost protected habitat of this endangered species in the country through trekking exercises, according to a Times of India report by Padmini Sivarajah.
Nihar Ranjan, District Forest Officer, Tuticorin the black buck sanctuary spread over an area of 1641.21 hectares of reserved forest with rich types of flora and fauna, came into being in 1987.
