Egypt expects 10 per cent growth in Indian visitors this year

Egypt, which is fast gaining popularity among Indian travelers, is expecting a growth of 10 per cent in the number of Indian visitors this year. This was announced by Magdi Selim, Director-India, Egyptian Tourism Authority at the Egyptian Nite yesterday in New Delhi. The event, organised by Egyptian Tourism Authority in association with The Embassy of Arab Republic of Egypt was attended by diplomats of several countries and prominent members of the travel trade fraternity. H.E. Dr. Mohamed Higazy, Ambassador of Egypt in India and Selim spoke about the similarities in the culture of India and Egypt and about the myriad offerings Egypt has to make it an attractive destination for Indians.

While welcoming the guests, H.E. Dr. Higazy said, “Like India, Egypt too is a perfect tourist destination with an eclectic mix of art and culture, sight-seeing, sports and entertainment activities. Both India and Egypt have a magical aura, which is hypnotic and boasts of traditional warmth and hospitality.” According to Selim, it was his first visit to Capital after being appointed as Director-India, Egyptian Tourism Authority.
