Eurail Group GIE, which sells European rail passes to travellers from across the world, has decided to market its products more aggressively in the Asian market, including India. As part of the effort to educate travel trade in India, Eurail recently organised workshops in Delhi and Mumbai. Eurail Group will spend one lakh Euro for promotional campaigns in the Indian market for the next one year.
Speaking with TravelBiz Monitor, Rene de Groot, Managing Director, Eurail Group GIE said, “The Group is expecting a strong growth from the Asian market, especially India and China, in the number of Eurail passes to be used in the coming years. Therefore it is imperative to educate the market about the advantages of using Eurail passes to explore Europe. Our aim is to send across the message that travelling by rail is the best way to experience Europe.” AnaDias e Seixas, Marketing Director, Eurail informed that the Group had commenced the Asia campaign in China last year and India is the next destination for Eurail due to the market size and potential. |
