In a bid to intensify its position in the Indian market, Expedia.co.in will launch its Travel Agents Affiliate Programme (TAAP) this month. It is a path-breaking initiative by Expedia for the Indian travel trade, and perhaps the first of its kind by an OTA in the country. As part of the introductory offer, Expedia will waive off membership fee for the first three months post which it will charge Rs 3,000 to sign up for TAAP. The member agents of TAAP will be able to view Expedia inventory of air, hotels, car rentals and destination activities and book the same with their login and password. Expedia will also offer 12 per cent commission on hotel bookings for the first three months. Subsequently they will earn a standard ten per cent commission on hotel bookings.
