Federation of Hotel and Restaurant Associations of India (FHRAI) will work closely with the Association of Domestic Tour Operators of India (ADTOI) to promote domestic tourism in India. According to Dr Sunil Gulati, Secretary, FHRAI, the two associations will work out a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to identify areas of joint initiatives in the near future.
“We want the Indian outbound, which is several times larger in comparison to inbound to India, to travel domestically for leisure and other activities so that we can overcome the crises arising out of international travel advisories. As part of the joint promotions, FHRAI will help ADTOI with space and other logistics to organise 40-odd road shows in different destinations in the domestic market,” said Gulati. The two associations will also work jointly to create packages for different domestic destinations, he informed. He said that almost 87 per cent of the classified hotel inventory was in the category of three-star or below three-star, and only 13 per cent inventory comes from hotels of four-star and above category. |
