According to a report in Times of India, the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) recently released a Karnataka tourism directory. The directory was released by G Janardhan Reddy, Minister for Tourism and Infrastructure, Karnataka at a function organised recently by FKCCI. The directory contains all the required information on destinations across districts in the different tourism segments such as heritage, religious, beach, wildlife, Eco, culture etc are described in detail. Hotels, eateries, packages and travel facilities are also included.
J Crasta, President, FKCCI said, “This is part of our efforts to encourage tourism in the state. The industry's potential has not been fully tapped due to various reasons like lack of funds and facilities.” Reddy mentioned that Rs 493 crore is being spent through Public-Private Partnership model in building helipads and roads in the state. A golf course in Mangalore and a theme park in Bengaluru are also under consideration. FKCCI also organised a seminar on the emerging trends in tourism in which prospects of medical, heli, heritage and coastal tourism were discussed. |
