Future Generali to launch domestic and student travel insurance products in India soon

Looking to tie-up with a total of 1000 travel agents and multiple OTAs for distribution of products

Future Generali India Insurance Co. Ltd. (FGIICL), which is a Joint Venture between the India-based Future Group and Italy-based Generali Group, is slated to soon launch travel insurance products for domestic travellers and also student travellers to international countries. Both products, for domestic and student travellers, are currently awaiting approval from the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA). FGIICL offers insurance for international travel under the product name ‘Future Generali Travel Suraksha’. Speaking exclusively with TravelBiz Monitor, Deepak Sood, Chief Executive Officer, FGIICL said, “Domestic travel insurance is likely to offer features that are more comprehensive than health and accident coverage. FGIICL is also looking at offering insurance coverage for loss of baggage, missed or delayed flights, theft coverage while travelling, whereas the student travel will offer insurance coverage for two years, each depending on the region the student is travelling to for education.”
