Genting Hong Kong Limited, previously known as Star Cruises Limited is now turning its focus on the Indian wedding segment. After catering to honeymooners, families and groups, Genting Hong Kong Limited aims to attract the wedding segment from Indian market. The cruise company is mainly targeting metro cities of India (Mumbai, New Delhi, Bengaluru and Kolkata) along with cities in Gujarat and Rajasthan. It organised few Indian weddings on board its cruise ships last year.
Elaborating on the wedding segment in India, Naresh Rawal, Assistant Vice President – India & South Asia, Genting Hong Kong Limited said, “Despite the global financial crunch or pandemic flu, the wedding segment in India witnessed attractive growth rate. It has huge potential for the cruise industry as wedding and honeymoon fit very well for a product like cruising. We are tapping potential markets in Gujarat and Rajasthan along with metro cities.” |
