Globus Roaming Services will soon roll out XIM card, their international SIM card for travellers across India soon. The card, which was launched in Delhi in April 2012, and Mumbai, a couple of weeks ago, will be launched pan India in a phased manner. The XIM card offers single number global roaming services to customers. Also, it is a life-time card, once availed can be recharged and used any where in the world on subsequent travels.
Globus Roaming plans to promote the XIM card through travel agents in the country, by offering them an alternate revenue source. “Today, when travel agents sell tickets, they do not make any money, because margins are quite low or negligible. With this card, we are offering them a life time revenue model. For every recharge, the agent gets a commission,” said Vikas Mehta, Director, Globus Roaming. Explaining the roll out plan, Mehta said, once the metro cities of Delhi and Mumbai are covered completely, they will expand to other cities in India, including the Tier-II cities. “ |
