GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited will officially launch the Plaza Premium Lounge in the arrival terminal by this month. GMR has already launched two lounges at the airport; one in the domestic and one in the international departure area. It had invited tenders from companies such as Taj, Oberoi and ITC for the open bidding process. Plaza Premium Lounge won the bid for their first airport lounge project in India. It has further signed an agreement with Plaza Premium Lounge for a period of seven years from the date of operation of the airport.
The lounge covering an area of 7,000 sq. ft. will have 28 rooms, toilet and shower area, meeting room, bar, business center, library, massage centre and a restaurant. This will, however, be a paid lounge unlike other airport lounges in India which are restricted to the business class passengers or frequent fliers. The Plaza Premium Lounge has the capacity to accommodate 150 people at a time. It will also have slumber rooms, which will be rented out in slots of different time spans. Initially the slots will be of four hours and will be subsequently increased to eight, 12 and 24 hour slots. |
