GNTB to introduce interactive online destination training programme in India by end of 2010

To continue promoting Germany through 'India Pool' initiative

German National Tourist Board (GNTB) which is aggressively looking at attracting the leisure segment to Germany is currently working towards introducing an interactive online destination training programme in India by end of 2010. During the ‘India Pool’ activity held recently in Mumbai, Horst Lommatzsch, Director Destination Management Asia, GNTB said, “The education system for Germany as a destination will be made interactive in order to engage the travel trade. We are currently working on the developing the programme and we are hoping to launch the same by end of 2010 or even earlier, depending on the time when the programme is ready.” GNTB also held a similar ‘India Pool’ activity in New Delhi.

Meanwhile, GNTB will continue promoting the destination through the 'India Pool' initiative undertaken last year. Under this initiative, different stake holders of Germany come together, undertake some investments and promote the destination jointly. Currently, there are about 14 stake holders from German tourism industry who are a part of this initiative, which has an investment of 1.5 million Euros till 2013. Plans are underway to add more stakeholders.
