The German National Tourist Office (GNTO) ‘India Pool’ had been initiated early this year with the support of 14 partners coming together to promote their regions to the Indian travel trade. After the first successful India Pool activity week held from February 9-13, 2009 in Mumbai, the second phase took place in Bengaluru from August 24-26, 2009 and Kolkata from August 26-28, 2009. Future workshops and sales interactions will be held for Delhi and Mumbai from October 12-16, 2009. The GNTO together with its partners of the Indian pool will invest 1.5 million Euros over the next three to five years, in marketing Germany in India. This will be the first step towards strengthening the position of Germany as a leisure destination in India.
The GNTB India Pool includes the federal states - Bavaria, Saxony, the cities- Berlin, Cologne, Frankfurt, Munich, Stuttgart, and the association of Magic Cities which comprise of Berlin, Cologne, Dresden, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Hanover, Leipzig, Munich and Stuttgart.
