Department of Tourism, Government of Goa and the Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) have come together for the first time to organise an international travel expo in the state. The International Travel Mart (ITM) will be conducted in Panjim on October 14-17, 2010. The main focus of the expo is to showcase Goa’s travel and tourism industry highlighting Hinterland Tourism. The expo is expected to have 100 stalls and about 80- 100 hosted buyers. The knowledge partner of the event is TravelBiz Monitor.
The official website www.itmgoa.com was launched yesterday during a press conference in the presence of Shyam Satardekar, Chairperson, GTDC; Dr M Modassir, Secretary Tourism, Goa; Swapnil Naik, Director Tourism, Goa; Nikhil Desai, Managing Director, GTDC and travel trade representatives.
Under the theme of Rediscover Goa, the expo will concentrate on altering the image of Goa from primarily being a beach destination. |
