GoI grants ‘in-principle approval’ for import of 375 aircraft for scheduled operations

According to a PIB release, Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel recently informed the Lok Sabha that the Government of India (GoI) has granted ‘in-principle approval’ for import of 375 aircraft for scheduled operations.  These aircraft have to be imported by the year 2025.

Apart from this, GoI has also given permission for import of 49 aircraft for scheduled air transport services from August 2009 and is valid for one year.  The airline-wise details are as follows: - Jet Airways (13); JetLite (02); SpiceJet (07); Zav Airways (03); Deccan 360 Cargo (08); Aryan Cargo (02); GoAir (02); Jagson Airlines (02); IndiGo (10).
