GTDC introduces two more monsoon packages, to launch white water rafting this season

In order to attract tourists to Goa in the monsoon, the Goa Tourism Development Corporation Ltd (GTDC) has announced two new monsoon packages: Heritage and Hill Retreat and Movie Magic. Furthermore, the corporation plans to launch white water rafting in mid-June this year.

Meanwhile, the state government has appointed Mathew Samuels, IAS as Secretary - Tourism, Government of Goa. Recently promoted to IAS, Samuels has earlier served as the Director of Tourism for the Union Territory of Puducherry.

Speaking about the monsoon packages, Sanjay Prabhu Chodnekar, General Manager, GTDC stated “GTDC has already come up with several packages since last year, these packages are an addition to our portfolio.” He added that an Expression of Interest (EoI) has been floated by the corporation to start white water rafting at Valpoi near Dudhsagar Falls on the Northern belt of Goa. The corporation is looking forward to start the operations from mid-June this year until September.
