Haryana Travel Mart’s (HTM) Tourism Expo will be held at Ambience Mall instead of Epicentre in Gurgaon from December 19-20, 2009. The decision to change the venue has been taken in order to attract more visitors from Delhi at the Tourism Expo. The area of the exhibition will be approximately 42,000 sq ft. The organisers of the Expo are expecting around 75 exhibitors, including associations, hotels, state tourism boards, destinations etc.
Sanjay Sharma, Official Exhibition Coordinator, HTM said, “We want to cater to the Delhi crowd in a big way. The normal footfall to the Ambience Mall on weekends is approximately one lakh. We are expecting ten per cent of this crowd to visit the Expo, and ten to 12 state tourism boards participating at the Expo. Already six state tourism boards have already confirmed their participation. The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India will also participate in the Expo. Similarly, among the overseas destinations, Turkey and Thailand have already confirmed their participation, and we hope that Korea and Malaysia will also join in.” |
